Join us to hear from our speakers on what role Councils should play in campaigning activities to end the housing crisis
Kensington Against Dirty Money: Radical reform of tax laws is key to ending the housing crisis.
“One of the key elements to fairer housing is to ensure higher income earners pay the same or an increased proportion of tax on their multi-million pound homes, as the average & low income earners have to pay in income tax & council tax.” said L’Oreal, a member of Fairer Housing who is in temporary accommodation, waiting for a permanent home.
Anna’s Story
Anna lives on the second floor but there’s no lift, and she finds the stairs really painful. She shares her bedroom with her 14 year old son who has special needs. Her daughter, who is now 17 has the second bedroom. They are less crowded since her oldest daughter, (24), married and moved out.
